I hate self-penned biographies so I'm going to do like my page on myspace and speak in the first person.

I am a multi-instrumentalist / songwriter / producer / DJ who records under the name Tyrrell but I'm also known for my collaborations with other producers, the most popular of which are Interfearence and HOOKED.

IN THE LAST 12 MONTHS I HAVE:

-signed a new solo single to Etage Noir Recordings

-replayed The Doors 'The End' for Dirty South

-played on and mixed tracks for the new Lethal Bizzle album

-produced and written tracks with Supafly Inc. and P.Liassi

-wrote and recorded original music for the short film, 'Losing Her'

-arranged and recorded an all strings version of The Rakes 'Terror'

-remixed Wax Poetic 'Swing Swing' for Nublu Records

MY BACKGROUND:

After succeeding in becoming one of the youngest, fastest and most pretentious guitarists ever accepted into the jazz program at Humber College in Toronto, Canada, I became restless and moved to London, UK where my new appreciation for more simple, catchy, repetitive music with mass appeal would land me in a job making tea in one of London's most cutting edge, underground (literally) dance music recording studios. As I was still young and hungry, graduating from teaboy to engineer then producer happened very quickly as I was thrown into sessions with Blue Pearl, The Orb, Youth, Steve Hillage & System 7, Richie Rich, A Guy Called Gerald, Baby Ford and the Stereo MCs. I recorded and mixed PM Dawn's first two albums (including 'Set Adrift On Memory Bliss') and co-produced Urban Species 'Listen'. For the rest of the nineties I worked with/for a host of other artists from: Marxman to Roni Size as well as with my then girlfriend, singer/songwriter Harri Lake with whom I wrote and recorded practically 4 albums worth of songs. By 1999 I was releasing music as an artist myself under the name Interfearence with Paul Martin and then HOOKED with Chris Thomaidis (click link on the left) as well as my own psuedonym, Tyrrell.
